As far as Royal Rumble is concerned, the rules for his year's over-the-top battle royal are different from past shows. Instead of a new wrestler entering every 2 minutes as done in the past, this year wrestler's will enter every 60 seconds. This basically shortens up the match from a guaranteed minimum of 60 minutes, down to 30 minutes.

Maybe they changed it because they are really planning GOOD, Longer title matches instead of rushing them. Now with only 1 minute intervals for the Rumble match they can concentrate on having HHH/Steiner & Angle/Benoit to put on a better show instead of having to rush to finish so they can finish the Rumble in the alloted time.
Did that make sense? ;D

Yeah, that makes sense. I might be alone in thinking this but I really enjoy the Royal Rumble matches and would much rather see a long well done Rumble match then a couple of title matches. After all, the Rumble only comes once a year. A thirty minute match would make any records broken and anyone lasting long not seem so great.

Maybe they will surprise us. Sure a new guy comes down every 1 minute but that doesn't mean guys will be eliminated just as fast. There could be 20 people in the ring at once all we know.

Up until this point, WWE planned to have one-minute intervals in between each superstar's entrance during the Royal Rumble match tonight.
According to Sunday Night Heat, however, that rule has been changed back to the original two minute intervals that WWE has had for years. WWE displayed a list of the rules on air, and it clearly said two minute intervals.
So, with WWE continuing to change their mind back and forth, one has to wonder what will actually happen. Stay tuned to this website for live coverage of Royal Rumble!
