The original plan for Kurt Angle's opponent at the Royal Rumble pay-per view in a WWE title defense was to be Chris Benoit. Recently, plans changed again to have Edge take the spot, and currently it's undecided who will be put in the role. No matter who ends up in the position, Kurt Angle is expected to defend the title in a singles match at the PPV, with Brock Lesnar entering the Rumble match itself to earn a shot at Angle heading into WrestleMania.

Yeah, I don't think it matters who he faces. They won't have another title change so soon. As for the Rumble, I'm sick of it being so predictable. What happened to the days where it was a surprise who won?

I don't think Lesnar will win. I think it will be someone else on RAW. Brock Vs. Angle is something that should be worked apon up till WrestleMania. If they get Brock to win, it would mean theres 2 months build-up with Brock already in place for WMXIX.
