Even though 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin had been rumored to be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, he was not used on television. Using him on RAW would've been a bad decision, taking away from his return at the No Way Out pay-per-view on February 23rd, at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
There are thirteen days left until No Way Out, which leads many to wonder why Eric Bischoff vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been announced at this time. Usually matches with this much heat is either announced much earlier on, or the RAW before the event. With only two RAW's to build upon this new match, one has to think if WWE can properly push this match-up between the men.
There is obviously residing heat from the WCW days between Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff, where Bischoff told Austin that a man with black tights and boots is not marketable. "Stone Cold" was soon fired from WCW via mail, a very disrespectful way to release a wrestler.
