The general consensus in the WWE locker room right now is that the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin should be good for business, and that’s the most important thing. Superstars feel that if Austin is bringing the company more and more money, then his return will be helpful, despite the way some of them may feel about him.
There is still some residual heat towards "The Rattlesnake," as there are some people who resented the way he left the company, but many seem to understand the rationale behind Austin’s decision. Most of the superstars are looking to go forward, realizing that more money for the company means bigger pay-per-view, house show, and merchandise cuts for them.
Talk continues that Steve Austin’s opponent at WrestleMania X9 will be The Rock, and then he will have a feud with Triple H down the road. As for now, however, the universal feeling about Stone Cold’s return match at No Way Out is that the match is intelligent booking. At 38 years of age, Austin’s body is obviously going to suffer from wear and tear, as it has for several years now. A match with Eric Bischoff is just what he needs to help get his wind back after the long hiatus. Another factor in this match that may entice Austin is that Eric Bischoff fired him from World Championship Wrestling, in what many feel was done in an unjust manner. Let’s hope for Bischoff’s sake that Austin has let go of his vendetta against the former "Easy E."

i didn't like the austin of late, i haven't liked him for well over two years. and his return for me was a move which i felt mcmahon shouldn't do, but although i felt this, i now hope that his return does work out and help the WWE find its feet again, what i do hope it doesn't do is have mcmahon try to revive the 'attitude' era
have you ever heard the expression 'flogging a dead horse'?

I think they need Stone Cold more than ever. RAW, ever since he left has been stale and stagnant. I.E. the ridiculous Katie Vick storyline. Austin will bring that boost they need. The other wrestlers in the locker room will be boosted as well by his return. They have been critisizing the poor direction of the program and with the "top dog" back in town everyone will be more enthusiastic that RAW will get back to where it belongs, ON TOP!
