This is my second one of these. Thank you WWE for coming twice in the last 6 months!
OPENNING-
Chimmel comes out to give the rules and regs and direct us to stand for the Natn’l Anthem.
Once again (as w/ the last WWE show here) I was a little appalled that over half of the crowd didn’t take off their hats for the song.
Stupid rednecks . . .
Match # Uno: WWE Tag Team Titles
Edge/Rikishi vs. Team Angle (Haas and Benjamin)
The crowd was on fire for this one. A lot of dominating moves from ‘Kish on both members of Team Angle. Team Angle kept running out of the ring (which was starting to get old) Team Angle isolated Edge most of the match. A lot of high flying and cool spots thru the match. Benjamin and Haas are very talented.
Winners: Team Angle via Sheldon pinning Edge w/ help from the ropes.
After the match, Edge and Rikishi brought some kid from the audience into the ring (I think he was related to the Wilsons) to dance Rikishi’s “fat-a$$” dance. This little kid (probably no more than 7) was jumping on the ropes psychin’ the crowd up!
It was pretty funny. I bet that moment made that kid’s life!
Lucky bugger!
Match #2:
Red Dog vs. Kanyon
It was nice to see Kanyon back. It looks like he has lost a lot of weight and is in great ring shape. Red Dog dominated the entire match w/ power and working on Kanyon’s shoulder. The crowd was dead for this one, but I thought it was a very technically proficient match in my opinion w/ a lot of turnovers and cool moves from Kanyon. I guess Boise can’t sense wrestler ability even if it pooped on their noses!
Winner: Red Dog w/ an arm bar on the ground on Kanyon’s “injured” shoulder
Match #3: Triple threat Crusierweight match
Jamie Noble w/ Nidia vs. Nunzio vs. Shannon Moore
Noble comes in first to dis and piss off Boise by insulting the males in the crowd . . . it worked! Noble gets Nidia to start removing her top, but Nunzio comes in to stop her and Jamie starts beating on him. Shannon Moore runs in and creams them both. A lot of great high flying spots. Moore had my favorite of the night, he did a flip over the ropes into both Noble and Nunzio outside the ring. It was great!
Winner: Noble via pulling Shannon’s tights in a roll-up
Shannon was clearly the MVP of this match. He’s going to big one day!
Match #4:
Chuck Palumbo vs. Brain Kendrick “the Streaker”<br>When Chimmel announces Kendrick, he’s up at the concession stand in flannel pants and ragedy clothes. Kendrick runs down the stairs and starts a whole bunch of high flying moves on Chuckie. This was the most interesting match of the night, but it wasn’t the wrestling necessarily that was interesting. Some drunk redneck came down to the barricade to talk sh$$ and to start a fight w/ Chuck. Right as he was almost getting near the barricade, security “kindly” escorted him out.
Winner: The Streaker via . . . I forgot how
Match #5: Handicap match
Brock Lesnar vs. A-Train and Paul Heyman
Heyman comes out and responds to a “You suck” comment from the crowd w/ a classic comeback, “Yes I do suck, but only because your mom showed me how.” Brock got his butt beat most of the match. He kicked out of the Baldo Bomb and went on a rampage. A-Train gets the upperhand again w/ distractions from Paul. Paul slips in chair for Albert, but Brock decimates A-Train w/ it.
Winner: Brock w/ a chair shot on Prince Albert (I miss that name!)
After the match, Heyman received a pretty sloppy F-5.
*Intermission*
-Typical Merchandise plug from Chimmel
Match #6:
Bill Demott vs. Nathan Jones
Holy crap! Nate is f’n huge! They played down his role as the dominating one and made it pretty even w/ Bill getting some good licks in occasionally. I don’t know what anybody else said in previous house show reports, But Nate’s wrestling ability looked pretty good in the ring. He sold well and didn’t screw up any big spots
Winner: Nathan Jones via a modified Alabama slam that was freakin’ loud!
Match #7:
Inter-Gender Tag
Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman vs. Dawn Marie and John Cena
Torrie was the local hero (she’s originally from Boise).
John comes out and disses Boise w/ some of his “rhymes.” I, personally, am not a fan of his Vanilla Ice routine. The WWE needs to give him a push based solely on talent, not gimmicks! He’s talented! Seeing Billy doing the shooting star off the top rope was clearly the highlight of the evening for most people. I’m still in shock of seeing that move live and in person! Torrie is beautiful in-person, I can’t wait for her Playboy spread! Billy’s a lucky guy!
Winner: Kidman and Wilson via Kidman using the Shooting Star on Cena
MAIN EVENT- Kurt Angle (c) vs. Chris Benoit for the WWE Heavyweight Title
There’s not much I can say about this match, but . . . F***ing awesome!
There was no snag in intensity at all! It was on fire the entire time. All of the submission spots and flying headbutts and Angle Slams were all there. Those two are amazing, even live!
Winner: Angle via interference from Team Angle (Sheldon superkicked Benoit)
After the match Edge and Lesnar run in to help Benoit.
After they clean house, they thank the crowd and pose for almost five minutes!
All in all, it was a pretty entertaining show. I liked the talent on this show better, but overall I like the RAW show better from last time they were here only because Triple H and Kane was there! Still, this show was very entertaining!
I didn’t get to see any superstars on the way out, but my friends and I did get a pic w/ referee Jimmy Kordaris (sorry for the spelling) as he was tearing down the ring. This pic will go next to my other ref pic w/ Jack Doan from the last Boise house show.
Jimmy told us that there was a strong possibility that WWE would be coming back for a TV in the near future. I look forward to it!
The crowd was hot, but not nearly as much compared to the Raw house show back in Oct! It looked to me like 80% of the 7000 capacity area was filled.
I hope. . . I hope . . .I hope that they come back to Boise for a first-time TV!
In the meantime, I guess I’ll just have to wait when they come closer to me in Seattle for WM X9!
I hope that I’ll be there!?
Yeah, I guess I’ll go with tradition and do the pops/heat:
Biggest Face Pops
1. Torrie
2. Lesnar
3. Benoit
4. Edge/Rikishi (tie)
5. Billy Kidman
Biggest Heel Heat
1. Kurt Angle
2. Team Angle
3. John Cena
4. Jamie Noble
5. A-Train
Honorable Mentions:
-Al Wilson was there at show because he’s also from Idaho. It was so funny to see people go. “Oh my god, Al’s alive, I thought he was dead.”
NEWSFLASH KIDS!!!!: WRESTLING IS FAKE!!!
-Dean Malenko and Dave Hebner were also there and would hang outside of the “ramp”<br>
I’d like to give a “shout out” to my new ringside buddies Michael and Matt:
Thanks for being cool guys!
If you two guys want a copy of that shot of Jimmy and us after the show, email me.
PS
(You’ll have to identify which seats you are in, so I don’t have the whole world saying that they are the real “Matt and Michael”)
