WDC Reader Matt Briddell sent this in: The WWE was live in Indy tonight for Smackdown and Velocity tapings. The show ran about 3:15 altogether.
Before the show, I ate dinner at Indy’s Hard Rock café. One of the waitresses said that Sean O’Haire was eating there, but he left before I got a chance to see him.
The lobby was very full, and the crowd was very large for the tapings. The upper level was open most of the way around and the entire building was fairly crowded. They didn’t announce the official attendance but I’d say at least 10,000 were there.
All in all, a very disappointing product. The matches were so short that the crowd didn’t have time to get into most of them. Undertaker’s segment with the crates just sucked the life out of the building with all the time it took to move the things in and out of the ring (at least 20 minutes of down time).
Best pops:
1: Hogan 2: Rey Mysterio
Biggest heat:
1: Rock (he had to get the crowd to turn on him at the beginning) 2: The crane operator 3: NO EDGE!!! 4: Angle and friends 5: Nunzio’s beating of Rikishi 6: Matt Hardy’s win over Kidman 7: Big Show
