As a bit of an update on an earlier report, the results for tests Edge took to determine what injury his neck has been suffering from came in and the results aren't positive. The tests revealed that Edge will have to undergo neck surgery under the knife of Dr. Lloyd Youngblood to heal his neck injury. It appears to be the less serious of the two procedures that could have been done, with Edge needing the lesser of the two which is the operation where Youngblood will be operating on the front of the neck.
No word is out on how long Edge will be missing in action, or if he'll be able to work his scheduled six-man tag team match this coming Sunday on No Way Out. If he isn't able to, Rhyno is likely to replace him.
Originally, Rhyno was scheduled to join the RAW roster as part of the Evolution group, but the writing team decided against that idea. Paul Heyman has been pushing aggressively for Rhyno to be a part of his SmackDown! roster, and with the sudden change of plans in Edge's future, Rhyno could be a big name superstar to fill-in for him. Apparently, Edge was even for the idea of Rhyno taking his place and hoped Heyman could get everything arranged if the situation called for it, which it now does.

Rhyno, coming back at No way Out? ;D Sad about Edge, though. Maybe he could be managing Rhyno or something, seeming as they used to be friends.

They should make it so Rhyno shows up and when Lesnar is ready to finish the match with an F-5, Rhyno Gores him and Rhyno ends up in Heyman's stable! :drooling::laugh:

Dave Scherer of 1wrestling.com reported today that Edge will need surgery to repair his neck. Dr. Lloyd Youngblood decided that its in Edge's best interest to undergo the procedure after results of his tests came out today. Whether Edge participates in Sunday's PPV match is still yet to be determined but if he does it is possible that an angle will be done to write him off the show. There is talk that Rhyno could take Edge's place at the PPV. Rehab could take anywhere from 6 months up to a year.

It's expected that WWE will work some sort of angle to explain Edge's absence (which isn't confirmed yet) from the six-man tag match at No Way Out. As we mentioned the past few days, Paul Heyman (and to an extent, Edge himself) are pushing for Rhyno to take his place in the match. However, due to the predicted strong popularity of Edge in Montreal, he may be involved in some form or fashion.
