G Polk sent this one. ... It was reported on the Mike & Mike in the Morning show on ESPN radio this morning that Stone Cold Steve Austin was in Bristol this morning shooting a commercial with Dan Patrick. Host Mike Golic commented that Austin had walked out on his "sport" or whatever it really is, but now was coming back. He then said there were 400 people there at the shoot. Four were actually working and the other 396 were eating doughnuts. Nothing else of interest was said.
Nasser Kashani added this. ... I was just listening to the Dan Patrick Show and Dan was talking about how he and Austin were filming a commercial that involved Dan hitting Austin with a chair repeatedly.

Aside from being the home to 'Worldwide Leader in Sports,' there isn't much to hoot and holler about in the sleepy town of Bristol, Connecticut.
That is, until Stone Cold Steve Austin rolls in.
The Texas Rattlesnake made his first appearance on national television Thursday afternoon, going one-on-one with anchor Michael Kim on ESPNEWS.
Austin, in the ESPN environment to shoot one of their famous ‘This is SportCenter’ commercials, sat next to Kim wearing a WWE T-Shirt and a whole lot of Stone Cold character. "They (ESPN) asked me to wear the shirt for the commercial, so I wore it," he explained. "It doesn't mean I'm back."
Related Info Dogg: The Stone Cold Truth Kim played along with Austin’s character for a while, noting that he had been named RAW’s Wrestler of the Decade. But which was better, winning that honour or finally having the privilege of being in some of the funniest commercials in television? "I think it’s being Wrestler of the Decade," Austin said quickly. "It’s been fun doing the SportCenter commercial, but I think the fans were pretty smart in selecting me."
Austin then described how ESPN contacted him to do a commercial during his time off from WWE. The Rattlesnake - who also appeared in the 6pm et show to play "Fact or Fiction" - admitted he was an avid watcher of the network’s flagship news program. "I’m a big SportsCenter fan," he said. "When you have a schedule like I do, you don’t get to see a lot of football, baseball or basketball games."
Austin, a former linebacker and defensive end at North Texas, was then asked who was the better football player – himself or Miami’s Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock. “I’ll plead the fifth on that question,” he said with a smirk on his face.
With just two weeks left to the No Way Out pay per view in Montreal, he was asked if he and Vince McMahon were getting along. “I guess it’s on and it’s off,” he said. “ I can’t say things between me and Vince – or anyone else for that matter or peachy keen right now.”
Asked if he was going to appear in Montreal, Austin dodged around the question quite well. “Maybe,” he replied. “They’ve invited me to show up on TV at No Way Out. Eric Bischoff was in Texas looking for me. I’m still thinking about it but I’m interested, I’ll tell you that much.”
At 37 years of age, Kim also asked how long Austin thought he could wrestle for. “I’ll go as long as I can,” he said. “I love the fans, I love walking into the arena, it’s a rush. Who knows? I’ll take it day by day.”
Finally, Austin was asked if his Stone Cold character ever leaked into his own real persona as Steve Williams. “I’m a pretty mild right now because this (ESPNEWS) is what we’re doing,” he answered. “We’re just talking right now. When I go into an arena I just turn up the volume and I’m ready to go.”
Austin finished the interview by saying he appreciated being invited to shoot a SportsCenter commercial and looked forward “to making his decision on No Way Out.”
Spoken like a true WWE pitchman.
